Low carb fries, Turnip fries!

Does your low carb diet have your craving French fries? Turnip fries make a surprisingly tasty alternative, and they’re easy to make. Each medium sized turnip has about 8g of carbs. So that makes a fist full of these fries pretty low carb!

Simply buy some turnips, season them up and toss them in the oven! I haven’t been able to get them to have the same texture as French fries, but the flavor is pretty close. Check out the video below for full instructions!

This is a tasty, healthy low carb alternative to French fries!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs turnips, or about 2 – 3 turnips

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 2 teaspoons powdered garlic

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

  • Pre heat your oven to 450 degrees.
  • Slice the turnips in to about half inch thick slices.
  • Toss the sliced turnips in the olive oil, powdered garlic salt and pepper.
  • Evenly spread the turnip pieces on to a backing sheet without over crowding them.
  • Bake for 15 min. Let rest for at least 5 min. or until cool enough to eat1
  • Enjoy with a nice aioli!
